Disney World Time & Theme!

My family and I are going to Disney World in the next few weeks and are super excited. We are taking our 6 year old daughter for the first time. I honestly think that I am more excited about it than her at this point. I am surprised that we haven’t had a Disney themed birthday party yet, however I did surprise my daughter a couple years ago and decorated her room in a Tinkerbell theme.

Maybe I should have a farewell party, just we can have a Disney theme. Hmm…..lol

Planning a Disney party or Princess themed event soon, consider adding this simple touch, that can make a grand statement.

The fleur-de-lis or fleur-de-lys is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol.

I wondered for a long time,  what this fancy shaped figure was. 🙂

This symbol, depicting a stylized lily or lotus flower, has many meanings. Traditionally, it has been used to represent French royalty, and in that sense it is said to signify perfection, light, and life. Legend has it that an angel presented Clovis, the Merovingian king of the Franks, with a golden lily as a symbol of his purification upon his conversion to Christianity. Others claim that Clovis adopted the symbol when waterlilies showed him how to safely cross a river and thus succeed in battle.

While out an about keeping an eye out for interesting decor, I saw several of these without even looking for them. We carry quite a few of these in our favor inventory, but wondered how you could tie this into your theme decor. I can always anything no matter the object, but it’s great when you stumble upon the unknown.

In my first post on the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority I reported that one of my co-workers was a Delta, well many many more have surfaced since then, they even showed their dedication at a work function when coincidentally everyone had to wear Red & White.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 1913. Delta Sigma Theta was incorporated in 1930. More Information.

Summer Weddings 2012

Hi All,

I have been away for quite sometimes and I am back to share all of my interesting stories that relate to events and party planning.

Summertime is almost here and so are the lovely blushing brides of the season. Spring weddings are probably in full swing. I have been married 10 years and I still long to go into the Brides by Demetrios store on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. I remember picking my first wedding dress out of that magazine.  Its funny how some feelings never go away. Weddings are to women what Christmas is to children.

 

I work right across the street from Villa Christina and have seen several beautiful weddings already, even on Fridays!

Spring

Its spring its spring
Oh I just can’t wait
To find fruits on the vases
And flowers on my plate

I want to hear the warm sun
And feel the robin singing
Watch the scent of the flowers
And smell the butterflies flying

Its spring its spring
I’m so full of glee
For the people will bloom
And the flowers will be happy

The gray fields shall be covered
With the magic of the meadow
And the brown sky shall be painted
With the blossoms of the rainbow

For it is the time of spring
