In Atlanta the weather right now is cool, but nice at times. I spent a windy Saturday afternoon in the first few days of the month displaying my services at my neices elementary school fall festival. It brought lots of Hot Cocoa, Families and Fun out. I have posted some pictures, thanks for all the support from family and friends enjoy.
When you have your first child people always say, savor every moment they grow up so fast. Well since my hubby and I had a long journey conceiving our daughter I planned to savor every moment anyway. At any rate this statement is oh so true, I can’t believe that she is 4 years old already and now in Pre-K.
She turned 4 in June and being the party planner that I am I had planned a great Fairy Party. Unfortunately I was in a pretty bad accident which left me in unbearable back pain, so we had to make some plan modifications. I was still able to put together the favor bags as well as the invitations and thank you cards (shown below). I also played with Fondant and made her two birthday cakes, which were devoured in minutes. We decided to go to PLAY in Roswell, GA and still used the fairy theme. I also decorated my daughters room, since she was upgrading to a big girl bed. On the night before birthday, we removed her toddler bed and put in the Twin Bed. I decorated the walls and covered the entire floor with balloons. It turned out to be a great day, I spent 24 hours making her cake and another 24 hours decorating her room and it was well worth it to see the look on her face. But I think I will leave the cake decorating to the professionals.

(Paper Products, Room Decor and Children Party Planning)
Like I said before there are several expecting mothers in my office. Today I found out that one of them is having twins. What little girl didn’t dream of having twins, well maybe not all of you, but those of you that did know what I am talking about. Being children as we were during those imaginary times, cost never came to mind……until we grew up.
As an adult finding out you’re having twins can be joyous, overwhelming and shoking. You soon realize that you’ll need two of everything (more if you find out your having 3 or more). My friend then proceeded to tell me how her husband reacting turning pale and immediately going to Babies R Us afterwards to price everything from strollers to diapers, she tried to assure him, by saying that friends and family would come through. Since mutiples may be in my future as well, I can empathizze with them. But, I must admit that I am a junkie when it comes to Baby Showers, I can whip up a Gift Pack, Hospital Kit, etc, in no time. Do you know anyone having mutiples and would like to help them out, check out some of these gifts. Also offering baby sitting is a great idea too.

"Mr. Sock T. Pus" Plush Octopus with 4 Pairs of Socks
HAPPY MULTIPLES, HAPPY SHOPPING, HAPPY MOMMY, HAPPY BABY, HAPPY LIFE
Once again my department is full of beautiful expecting mothers. We recently had a Baby Shower at work and I sat there watching people run around like chickens trying to find unique and usual baby shower games. So where is the first place people go to find answers….? Right, the internet. The internet has the usual baby games. You will find the measuring of the moms belly and guess the baby food, but why not make it a little more interesting by coming up with your own games. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the classics, but sometimes I think you need to spice it up a little bit.
For example
1. Baby Bootie Race – Buy two pair of inexpensive baby shoes and have guests race across the room with their toes in the shoes and see who can keep them on. Turn it into a relay and if the shoes fall off you have to start back at the beginning, I am sure that you will have the greatest stomachace from laughing.
2. Baby Bottle Stacking – Set up about 10 baby bottle and time or have guests go head to head. On the word GO, have your guests screw off the top of the bottle and stack it upside down on its head, they all have to be standing when time is up. Competition is always a good time.
Try to think outside the box and find new and innovative ways for your guests to interact. Find word pairs such as Peanut & Butter, Mickey & Minnie, Amos & Andy, etc. , tape each to your guests back and have them try to pair themselves up. This can be used as an ice breaker for guests that don’t know each other well, or just a fun way to get the games started.
Cap it off with these whimsical favors from Mom and Baby.

Naturally since I have married onto the last name of Byrd it has become part of my lifestyle you can not imagine how many times I have purchased an item with any kind of bird on it for example a string of outdoor lights shaped like birds (courtesy of IKEA), a beautiful back winged T-shirt or an skirt for my daughter with birds on the pockets. Hummingbirds are my favorite, but hey who’s choosy, when it becomes an obsession. So I know if we had a bird themed wedding when we got married, it would have topped them all.
Doves and nests have been a traditional favorite for weddings representing everything from “lovebirds” to “peace” to the couple’s new nest. Bring them together and you have everything you need for hip meets traditional wedding style.
I’m mad about birds, but if you’re considering using birds as your wedding theme, I would recommend a bit of restraint. We don’t want guests to feel like they’ve walked into a Hitchcock movie!
A little bird goes a long way, the choices are endless, so it will be hard to narrow down your options.
Check out some bird themed items that will help with your overall vision.

My friend recently got married in South Carolina on the beach and it was just beautiful. Now some would think how could a beach wedding in South Carolina be beautiful. My dear, beach weddings don’t have to always be associated with the carribean. Water alone causes tranquility, and being in the vicinity of such a large body of water just creates a calm and serene feel.
For many people, the word “summer” conjures up images of sparkling blue ocean waves, barbecues, and long days. Not surprisingly, when brides-to-be decide on a summer date for their big days, they frequently turn to neutral hues like khaki and bright colors like yellow, pink, and orange to serve as a backdrop for their events.
Beach color schemes are great for summer weddings. During the summer, most people are already at the beach and there is plenty of natural inspiration to draw from.
